Jean Campell states that while teaching a class at Arrowmont, one of her students pointed her to a video of someone doing a beaded "Chenille" stitch and she fell in love with it.
She states that it's actually a combination of herringbone and netting. To my eye, it actually looks like some sort of embellished right angle weave.
