UPDATE!!! Volchol: Huichol Art on Wheels

If you read my post of July 12, 2012 ("Pimping Your Ride..."), then you need to click on this video  to see more about the car.

The Consulate General of Mexico in Denver along with the Mexican Cultural Center, the Museum of Popular Art in Mexico City and the Denver International Airport are presenting this unique beaded art on wheels for the last time before it goes to Europe.

http://www.brooklynstreetart.com/theblog/2010/12/11/huichol-art-transforming-a-vintage-beetle-in-mexico/
As I mentioned before, this 90s era Volkswagon Beetle was covered with almost 3 million beads in the traditional beadwork of the Huichol (indigenous natives of west central Mexico) by eight members of two families in honor of their patriarch. They finished beading the car in late 2010.

The exhibit runs through August 15 and marks the first time the car has been seen outside of a museum. It can be seen in the Great Hall of the Jeppesen Terminal on Level 5 of the Denver International Airport.

This to That - What glue do I use?

If you are trying to glue two or more disparate items, metal and plastic, for example and not sure what type of glue to use, then surf on over to: www.thistothat.com

This super-easy-to-use site lets you know exactly what type of adhesive you need. All you need to do is type in the two materials you are trying to attach and it recommends the proper adhesive for your project.

The site also has links to glue trivia (like who is that cow on the Elmer’s glue bottle - her name is Elsie) and their FAQ page.
